I am Claire Murashima, a graphic design & marketing student at Calvin College currently based out of Grand Rapids, MI. I am a firm believer in collaboration and draw inspiration from others around me. In my free time, you can find me exploring new mediums and practicing my handwriting.

"skin" was published in dialogue, Calvin College's student-run creative journal in the Fall 2017 edition. This was done on Photoshop using images from Unsplash.
STUDENT SENATE PROJECT LOGOS
As a Student Senator and a Graphic Designer, I designed logos for every project taken on by Student Senate in 2017-2018.
CALVIN DANCE MARATHON
I am the Founder & Overall Director of Calvin Dance Marathon, a 6-hour dance event that raises money for local kids in need in the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. I have managed our social media accounts, branding, and t-shirt design as well as other operations of this event.

Paintedbyclaire is my online platform for showcasing and selling current work. This showcases my abilities in painting, hand-drawn calligraphy and digital calligraphy. All pieces are made-to-order and customizable.
ADVERTISING, START GARDEN

In my Brand Design class, I had the opportunity to create an advertising campaign for Start Garde, a nontraditional venture capital company in Grand Rapids, MI. This has helped me understand the business of advertising while working with the demands of a client and their consumers.
FREELANCER

I am currently looking to take on clients looking for advertising, rebranding, or logo design. I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop and have experience with Illustrator and InDesign.
SKILLS
As a graphic design & marketing student, I believe that it is equally important to be proficient in software as well as the language used with it. My experience with leadership has enabled me to refine my skills of management, delegation & communication. My background in graphic design has allowed me to perfect my skills in Adobe Photoshop as well as work towards proficiency in InDesign & Illustrator.
LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Through Student Senate, I have been able to explore leadership and represent fellow students. This experience has helped me with delegation, team management & inspiring a team vision. I am passionate about leading a team through inspiring all towards a common goal, whatever the context may be.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP ON ETSY
I started paintedbyclaire on etsy as a way to share my calligraphy and paintings beyond the artistic community. Owning this has taught me about working with clients, managing logistics & being responsible for everything associated with my brand.
